Interpreting

• Simultaneous Interpreting.
Useful for large conferences as well as informal meetings with a small audience. The interpreter translates the speaker’s words in real time into a microphone and the audience listens to the translation by means of headphones. There are no pauses and the level of linguistic accuracy expected is not as high given the immediacy of the process.

• Consecutive Interpreting.
The speaker makes pauses to allow the interpreter to relay the message he/she has just given, and waits for the interpreter to finish before continuing. The time between pauses is generally no longer than 10 or 15 minutes. This allows the interpreter to have a better idea of the tone and context of the speaker��s message, thus ensuring a more accurate translation of the message than with simultaneous interpreting.

• Liaison Interpreting.
In the former two there is no response from the recipient. However, in this type of interpreting a dialogue takes place between the two parties. It is an ideal method for business meetings. It does not require the use of any particular device.

Design
